We've moved to Nashville! I'll keep you posted as I will be resuming business soon in Tennessee, thank you! - Heather

Hey There!

I’m Heather. Jesus follower, wife, mommy, art nerd, and lover of moments. I’m a SoCal girl, born and raised and totally addicted to good Mexican food. I have a knack for seeing art in the everyday moments we tend to take for granted.

For me, photography is all about seeing the beauty in real connections and simple moments.  Connections turn into memories and being able to capture those connections through an art form you can hold in your hands is why I love what I do. My goal is this, I want your photos to make you feel something when you look at them.

So, take a look around. If you like what what you see, shoot me an email. Let’s talk about all the goodness in your life that could be captured right now, as is, no posing required. I would love to show you the beautiful artistry in your life at this moment, even if you don’t know it’s there. Because I know it is.

A little Q&A to learn more about me…

Where am I from? I’m a SoCal girl, born and raised. I love Southern California. There’s just something about a smoggy sunset, that peachy brown that fades to green then to blue. GREAT Mexican food. Being able to go from the beach to the mountains in one day… I love it!

What is the best way to drink coffee? That’s an easy one. With brown sugar and milk in your favorite cup made by your kiddo. Next!

Do I have a superpower?  Yes. My eyes. I’ve always seen life a little differently than anyone else. What if I told you your everyday moments were like paintings, full of color, lovingly painted with the medium of your senses? You’d probably say “wow this girl’s a little weird“… and you’d be totally right, I’ll own it! But consider something new… I take a morning walk in my park. I’m still really sleepy, but I see the sun through the dark trees which is so bright that I’m able to open my eyes a little more. I feel the breeze on my face and the warmth of the sun which feels refreshing. I smell eucalyptus and cold air (which totally has a smell). I hear leaves and cars and taste my morning coffee with brown sugar (yum). This is clearly a moment almost everyone has every day… big deal right? So what’s so different about that? Well, I see each and every one of these senses like a color. This morning walk is not the sum of just one or two of these senses, but is designed to be wonderfully artistic by the combination of them all! The juxtaposition of the cool breeze and the warm sun. The natural rustle of leaves against the mechanics of whooshing cars. The minty-cool smell of eucalyptus with the warm-sweet taste of coffee… it suddenly becomes a little more, doesn’t it? More than just a walk. More like a work of art… well, this is how I see life. We as human beings, our moments, and our lives are crafted with so much more beauty and love than we realize and this is what I see when I see you. I may not even know you, but I know that you, your life, and your moments are a masterpiece in progress. Seeing a glimpse of that masterpiece is my superpower.

What makes my heart smile? Lot’s of things… knowing Jesus, my hot and talented husband, my baby-girl, museum days, creating anything for my Creator, “foodie” foods, fun & deep conversations, well crafted beverages, and finding new meaning in the smallest details.

Why do I love what I do? Let’s face it, real life is messy. But I believe that our lives are beautifully created, even when they are messy. God is good in your life all the time, during the pretty stuff and the not so pretty stuff. During the perfect matching outfit days and the yoga pants and spilled applesauce days. Youth and age, smiles and tears, lights and shadows, He is good in all of them. I love seeing His presence and artistry in our everyday moments then I get to capture these moments for others to see… it doesn’t get any better than that!

Why photography?… I’ve always been drawn to the beauty of a moment… both visual and emotional. My first creative passion was in event styling and I always brought my camera to my events just for portfolio purposes. Soon I found myself being drawn to the amazing connections between the people and the honest beauty of real moments. I started taking a few pics here, a few pics there and I was hooked! I was helping people create beautifully put together events… but the people themselves, their love, their joy, their connections, and their everyday moments were and still are even more beautiful to me.

What is my goal for our session? I want our time to be fun and relaxed, but also to be meaningful and to encourage you to be present, to connect with your loved ones, and to see something beautiful. My goal is to seek, to find, and to show you the beautiful artistry in your life at this moment, even if you don’t know it’s there. Because I know it is.

As Seen On
